What is lucky on gunsmoke?

Lucky is a recurring character on the television series Gunsmoke. He is a young orphan who is taken in by Matt Dillon and becomes his ward. Lucky is portrayed as a mischievous and impulsive teenager who gets into trouble frequently, but ultimately has a good heart. He is often in conflict with other characters, but is fiercely loyal to Matt. Lucky first appeared on the show in season 7 and continued to appear sporadically throughout the remainder of the series.
